Title: Drained
Author: tromana
Rating: T
Characters: Doctor/Romana, Leela
Spoilers: None
Summary: She’s scared, so scared. Doctor/Romana
Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who. I’m just playing.
Notes: FANFIC:100 fic. Prompt: Pain. Set during ‘Gallifrey: Appropriation’

Drained

She’s calling out for Leela because the Doctor isn’t there.

She’s scared, so scared. She hardly knows herself right now.

And it hurts, it hurts so much. She aches all over and wants to move. She wants to think for herself again.

Terror and torture and exhaustion; she’s emotionally drained.

And oh! There’s a war coming, the Matrix told her, before it was destroyed. Everyone thinks it’s been and gone - the civil war. But it’s so much more than that.

Between them, she and Leela could make a good Doctor. Leela, with her instinct and intuition. Herself, with her science, technologies and time.

But it’s not the same. Leela is blind and she is strong. She doesn’t know how she copes.

She calls for Leela, but she’s begging for the Doctor. He’d know how to sort this pain.

Characters: 10th Doctor/Romana II
Spoilers: None
Summary: “No, she hadn’t been listening. She had been too busy contemplating his latest regeneration’s irritating habits.” 10/Romana II
Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who. Why do you ask?
Notes: FANFIC:100 fic. Prompt: Listen

Misunderstanding

“That’s the problem with humans, they always leave too soon.”

Romana nodded mutely and sipped on her coffee. She didn’t quite know when he had developed this obsession with recounting tales of previous companions, but it was all becoming rather annoying. He certainly didn’t have that habit when she first met him – she only found out about Leela, after all, when she returned to Gallifrey.

Now, if you asked her, she could tell you exactly how Rose Tyler’s father died. Recount the Doctor and Donna’s trip to the Ood Sphere, right down to the fact there was snow. Real snow, not stuff the TARDIS had created. How Martha Jones defeated the Master with just words. It bored her. Quite a lot, truth be told. Yes, humans, his favourite species, could achieve quite a lot when they put their minds to it, but she didn’t need reminding every single waking moment.

“Mm.”

“Are you listening, Romana?”

No, she hadn’t been listening. She had been too busy contemplating his latest regeneration’s irritating habits. All skin and bones he was, too. And his hair was quite ridiculous if she was going to be picky. Which she really, really couldn’t be, being part of a nearly-extinct species and all. It wasn’t as if he decided to maintain any control over his regeneration to sort out details like that, either.

“No.”

She swallowed the rest of her drink, ignoring the fact it was now stone cold. She glanced over at the Doctor. He was wearing that look again; the one where it looked like you’d just gone and kicked K9 for no reason or something. She sighed; he seemed to have picked up some human irrationality since… well, since home had been destroyed. No point in laying the blame now, there was only the two of them left.

“What is it?” She sighed.
“I was just saying… how good it is to have you back… and…”

Good grief, she hated it when he was emotional like this. It was awful when he’d first found her, trapped on some backwater planet, but helping out the locals all the same. He’d gawped at her like she was some kind of ghost, before becoming incredibly excitable and demanding answers to questions such as ‘how did you survive?’, ‘why didn’t you regenerate?’ and “why didn’t I know you were alive before now?” It had taken her seventeen hours to calm him down enough to get him back to his TARDIS.

“…and I should rather like to kiss you.”

What? Maybe she should listen to more than just half of what he was saying. Although saying that, listening to only half of what he was saying sometimes did make more sense. He did tend to talk rather a lot about nothing in particular.

“Pardon?”
“That’s if you don’t mind… of course… I know you were always far more traditional than I am…”
“If I don’t mind what?”
“Me kissing you.” Romana nearly laughed at his look of utter disappointment, mixed with confusion.

“Is this another Earth habit you’ve developed?”

They were both blushing furiously as the Doctor nodded, quite embarrassed.

“Well. I suppose so,” she stated. “But you’ll have to show me how.”

He grinned as he approached her. He’d been hoping to do this for a long while.

 End

  Title: Whispers In Time
Author: tromana
Rating: M
Characters: Doctor/Romana
Spoilers: None
Summary:
Upon the planetary surface, she smiled a small trace of a smile. Doctor/Romana.
Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who. Otherwise, Romana would be back and everyone would die of fluff. Angsty Fluff, probably.
Notes: Character Death. FANFIC:100. Prompt: Death

Whispers In Time

The planet screamed. Her pain echoed through the universe and there was nothing anyone could do. She burned, tearing a hole in the fabric of reality, swallowing Daleks, Time Lords and lesser species alike.

Upon the planetary surface, she smiled the smallest trace of a smile.

He’d done it then. He’d put her plan into action. Half of her doubted he would; regardless of it being for the greater good, she didn’t think he’d be able to carry out double genocide. But he had. Her faith hadn’t been misplaced.

She tried lifting a twig-like, blackened limb. Failing to do so, she rested it beside her, savouring the senses of the dirt beneath her fingertips. There was so much she wouldn’t feel any longer. The customary tap of the cool metal of K9’s head, the gentle fabrics she chose to wear, his hair running through those now charcoal fingers.

Her breathing is laboured, her hearts are slowing. She can sense the apoptosis of cells in her necrotic body. Cells, tissues may be dying, but it’s not killing the memories quite yet.

The deaths of innocent students - her fault. She brought them here.

Innocent civilians lead to war. She was blind, inept. The Daleks are like machines, built for war.

Her bodyguard. She died so old yet far too soon. To a planet where her dust does not belong.

Oh and him. It was her fault. She was the main player in this cause of double genocide. It would be on his mind for the rest of his lives. He’d forget that she had anything to do with it. Simply remember her for the haughty graduate, the jackdaw meanderings, for being the President who changed Gallifrey.

As the noblest Romana of them all.

She wonders, in the dying seconds, if the planet will be remembered. If she will be remembered. As whispers in time. She’s never been that egotistical before, but maybe dying does that to you.

One of her hearts has stopped. She cannot feel her peripheral tissues any more. She stares at the orange sky of the condemned planet, a fireworks display that no one can appreciate, that no one will remember. A solitary tear slides down a ravaged cheek.

She hopes death will come soon.

She imagines it will be like a peaceful sleep.

End.

Thank you. :D

Was wondering about BBV ordering?

From: [identity profile] sneakyangel.livejournal.com
I have been doing some searching and found some other things to add to my order. Thank you for being patient with me, but go ahead and order your own copy.

I emailed them, asking about the second BBV audio. They haven't replied yet, but I'm hoping they will tell me 'oh yes, we have that and you can order it' but I have a feeling it will me 'no we don't stock that'.

It's all good.

Fantastic!!! I won that other issue that we were both bidding for, but some annoying person outbid me for the special issue in the last couple of seconds. Bastard!

Was the special the Key To Time Special? 'Cause if it was I bidded against you for that too...

I found another copy of the other one though... hopefully I'll get that one.

Ah well.

Oh... (gosh that took me far too long to remember). I listened to 'Storm Warning'. I adore Charley. I liked her from 'Neverland' and 'Zagreus'.... but AH... yes.

Isn't Charley wonderful!!! I love her as much as I love Romana! I love everything about Charley.

I need to get to know her more...

Trust me, the most you get to know Charley, the more you will love her. Thats exactly what happened to me.

Okay!

Did you say you had the one after Storm Warning?

Date: 2008-05-05 10:02 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sneakyangel.livejournal.com
I have every single Eight/Charley audio, from Storm Warning to The Girl Who Never Was (including the DWM special, Living Legend which is rahter...weird, although I did listen to it when I was half asleep...). I can upload any of them for you, if you want.

From: [identity profile] tromana.livejournal.com
Awesome... but just the next one would be very, very much appreciated (for now). I don't want to waste too much of your time!

Date: 2008-05-05 10:06 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sneakyangel.livejournal.com
No worries! I can upload them tomorrow while I'm at uni (my internet connection at home is rubbish. I can't upload or download anything, or even watch youtube!)

Ok, no rush!

My internet at home veers between very good - awful (to the state where certain pages won't even open). It depends on what one of my housemates is doing. He eats up sooooo much of our bandwith it's ridiculous.

Date: 2008-05-05 10:11 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sneakyangel.livejournal.com
Well I'll be in uni tomorrow all day, revising, so its no trouble.

We just have rubbish connection. I don't think it helps that its unsecure wireless. Sometimes, I can't even download lecture slides.

Ack... that's really bad.

I nearly got a rabbit for my birthday, apparently. Damn my boyfriend changing his mind!

He's scared of what my Mum's reaction would've been come July if he arrived on my doorstep with a bunny in his arms.

I had 3 when I was little. A black and white one. They bred and we got black ones, white ones (which we sold) and a grey one. (which we kept).

Well he has 2 months to prepare you mum!

From: [identity profile] tromana.livejournal.com
We're going to ask anyway! When I move it, I'd be taking him/her with me which adds to the argument, right... right? (unlike my cat which Mum can keep thank you very much)

Date: 2008-05-05 10:35 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sneakyangel.livejournal.com
Its a good argument! And if you already have a cat, surely a rabbit won't be much more work.

*coughs*

We have 3 cats, 2 gerbils, a guinea pig and six fish.

(and she's promised me a new hamster when I returneth)

Exactly!

Anyway, I'm really tired now and should try to sleep. I'm off to bed. Take care and thanks for the chat (again!) x
