Cassie left him with her mother when she went to London, but his dad also helped raise him, at least according to No Man's Land, where he says his dad never mentioned his mom but did have a picture. It's a little unclear to me as it did seem that she left Hex in the first place because she was alone, but maybe we can guess that the dad later decided to take some responsibility? I have this memory that in another audio Hex says he thought his grandma was his mother until he was 6 or something, but I at least had a clue when I went back over old posts that the dad thing was in NML, I don't know for that factoid so I'm too lazy to go looking. ;)
